This is a Digital Image not an actual print
Drawn by William Leighton Leitch (1804-1883) and engraved by D. Thomson for ‘The Shores and Islands of the Mediterranean’ 1840 by G. N. Wright, published by Fisher, Son and Co.
The ‘mole’ of Caligula is actually the remains of one of the several piles which supported the mole or pier of ancient Puteoli. It was from this pier that Caligula began his floating bridge of boats across the bay to Baiae.
