Robert Tannahill (1774–1810) was a Scottish poet of labouring class origin. Known as the ‘Weaver Poet’, he wrote in the wake of Robert Burns and in the judgement of some is second only to him.
Engraved by S. Freeman after the portrait by Andrew Blair for ‘Lives of Illustrious and Distinguished’ by Robert Chambers, 1834. Published by Blackie & Son, Glasgow.
