India, The Fortress of Bowrie (Bundi) in Rajpootana (Rajasthan)



Originally drawn in 1835 by W. Westall ARA after a sketch by Captain C. Auber, and later published in ‘Our Indian Empire and the Adjacent Countries of Afghanistan, Beloochistan and Persia’ 1860 by R. Montgomery Martin. The image first appeared as an aquatint in Captain Robert Grindlay’s ‘Scenery, Costumes and Architecture, chiefly on the Western Side of India’ 1826-30.
