Description
Mystras was the capital of the Byzantine Empire, after the fall of Constantinople in 1453, until it was also taken by the Ottoman Emperor Mehmet II in 1460. Drawn by William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854) and engraved by R. Sands for ‘The Rhine, Italy and Greece’ 1841-43, by Rev G. N. Wright and published by Fisher, Son and Co.
