Description

This is the artist’s impression of Brunel’s bridge. Construction began in 1831, but was halted by the Bristol Riots. The altered design was not completed until 1864. Engraved by W. Mossman from a picture by W.H. Bartlett for Finden’s ‘Ports, Harbours, Watering-places and Picturesque Scenery of Great Britain’, c1842. Paper size approx. 270 x 200 mm.
