Italy, The Forum Rome
Drawn by David Roberts from a sketch by William Page (1794-1872) and engraved by W. Finden for ‘A Gazetteer of the World’ Vol 6 published by Fullerton 1856. This unusual view of the Forum shows the Arch of Septimius Severus on the left, the remains of the Temple of Vespasian and Titus on the right, and straight ahead is the Temple of Saturn. This was first published in ‘Landscape Illustrations of the Bible’ 1836.
